Where Donations Go

By supporting the Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine Foundation, you are taking part in the evolution of the hospital toward the future. The hospital is constantly moving forward so as to keep patients with mental disorders at the heart of its activities—whether it be treatment, readaptation or rehabilitation.

Your donations contribute to the development of cutting-edge research in the area of mental health at the Centre de recherche Fernand-Seguin of the Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine, as well as promoting the social reintegration of our patients.Voici quelques unes des réalisations qui ont bénéficié des subventions de la Fondation

Some of the Achievements Made Possible by the Foundation’s Subsidies

The Eli Lilly Canada Chair

Uniprix Trauma Studies Centre

Our researchers’ expertise in the area of psychological interventions has been recognized by the SAAQ and the CSST, who partnered with the hospital in order to create the only Trauma Studies Centre in Quebec.

Telehealth (Accessible Throughout Quebec)

Our researchers in the area of psychological interventions are also evaluating long-distance psychological treatments (telehealth) that allow care workers to reach people who are unable to travel or who live in a remote region of Quebec with a shortage of therapists.

List of Supported Projects

Projects supported by the Foundation are evaluated by a committee comprised of representatives from the Foundation, the research centre and personnel from the hospital in order to ensure that they meet patients’ needs.

Activities for Patients

The funded activities support the quality of life, treatment, readaptation and integration of patients. They take part in defining the nature of the projects and contribute financially if possible. The funded projects cover activities such as:

  • therapeutic, athletic, and social and cultural activities;
  • activities in support of social reintegration (clothing, care package);
  • motivational groups;
  • classes and activities in the community;
  • support for the hospital’s Animal Therapy Committee;
  • support and relief for families…

These activities have a major positive impact on the development, personal balance, relaxation, happiness, insight, rehabilitation, socialization and self-esteem of affected individuals ... not to mention their sense of hope..
