Kieron O'Connor completed his clinical and psychological research training in England at the University of Sussex and the Institute of Psychiatry at Maudsley Hospital, London.
In 1998, he received a series of grants from the Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Québec (FRSQ) and established a clinical research program at the Louis-H. Lafontaine Hospital’s Fernand-Seguin Research Centre in Montreal. This multidisciplinary research program, which focuses on obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tourette’s syndrome and delusional disorders, is currently funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Kieron O'Connor is also an associate professor in the Université de Montréal’s psychiatry department and a scientific consultant for the Quebec?Obsessive-Compulsive?Disorder?Foundation.
To date, he has published over 100 scientific articles.
Marc Lavoie, Ph.D. (French content)
Marc Lavoie completed a bachelor’s in experimental psychology at the Université de Moncton in New Brunswick and a Master’s in psychoeducation research at the Université de Montréal. In 1997, he obtained his Ph.D in biomedical research from the latter institution.
Since obtaining his position as a researcher affiliated with the psychiatry department in 2000, Marc Lavoie’s research has focused mainly on neuropsychological and psychophysiological evaluation of Tourette’s syndrome and related disorders.
From 2005-2009, his research, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, has mainly focused on cognitive-behavioural therapy and cerebral plasticity.
