Constantin Tranulis s’intéresse à l’expérience subjective des personnes souffrant de psychose. Travaillant principalement avec des personnes en début de traitement (premier épisode psychotique), ses recherches explorent les récits sur la maladie, l’insight, l’expérience de soi (self-experiences), les comportements de recherche de soins et la stigmatisation. De plus, il collabore activement à des projets de traitement clinique de la psychose. La méthodologie transcende des limites disciplinaires classiques, puisant principalement dans la psychiatrie, l’anthropologie médicale et la phénoménologie continentale et utilisant des mesures ethnographiques et qualitatives, mais aussi des approches quantitatives.
