Adrianna Mendrek a développé une expertise en imagerie cérébrale à l'Université de Colombie Britannique (UBC) et à University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Ses travaux portent sur les aspects neurobiologiques des troubles de comportement associés à l'usage de substance (nicotine). En collaboration avec Emmanuel Stip, François Guillem et Marc Lavoie, elle s'intéresse notamment aux différences cognitives liées au genre chez le sujet sain et dans la schizophrénie.
Intérêts de recherche
Depuis quelques années, Adrianna Mendrek utilise l’imagerie par résonance magnétique fonctionnelle (IMRf) pour vérifier l'effet des neuroleptiques atypiques sur la performance cognitive chez des patients psychotiques en phase aiguë et en phase stabilisée, afin d'identifier les corrélats neurophysiologiques des marqueurs d'état et de trait dans la schizophrénie.
