Les projets de recherche de Tania Lecomte portent sur l’amélioration des traitements des personnes aux prises avec un trouble mental grave, soit par la création de traitements nouveaux, l’évaluation des besoins, ou la formation des intervenants en santé mentale. Elle a collaboré, entre autres, à la création et validation d’interventions de groupe de type thérapie cognitive comportementale pour améliorer l’estime de soi ou les symptômes des personnes souffrant de psychose. Ses recherches actuelles portent surtout sur la clientèle de premiers épisodes, mais elle s’intéresse aussi aux personnes avec une histoire clinique plus longue.

- l’impact de la thérapie cognitive comportementale sur les symptômes et le fonctionnement personnes ayant eu un premier épisode psychotique (subvention IRSC)
- les profils des premiers épisodes qui suivent ou non les recommandations de traitement pour leur psychose (subvention MSFHR, Norma Calder)
- l’impact de l’entrevue motivationnelle sur l’adhésion au traitement chez les premiers épisodes; les profils de soins et cliniques, ainsi que la création d’un traitement de groupe, pour personnes souffrant de psychose suite à l’abus de méthamphétamines (subvention IRSC)
- l’impact de la thérapie cognitive comportementale pour la psychose sur une clientèle psychiatrique incarcérée; le soutien en emploi et à l’éducation des personnes aux prises avec un trouble mental grave (subvention IRSC)
- la remédiation cognitive liée au fonctionnement social chez les personnes avec psychoses souffrant de déficits cognitifs
