Profile

Kieron O’Connor received his doctoral degree and clinical training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Maudsley Hospital in London. He is currently director of the study centre for research into tic and obsessional disorders. His research focuses on improving understanding and treatment of people suffering from obsessive-compulsive spectrum and related disorders. He has created three multidisciplinary research teams working respectively on: treatment of tic disorder Gilles de la Tourette syndrome; delusional disorders; and obsessional disorders. His approach combines clinical and psychophysiological methods. His recent research extends treatment programs into eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder and to children and adolescents. He is also involved with community education and workshops and has authored four treatment manuals.
