Lise Bergeron is an expert in the area of testing evaluation tools for mental disorders in children and adolescents, as well as epidemiological research on mental disorders among these populations. Her projects also provide early screening for mental disorders in the school system.

Research Interests
- The epidemiology of mental disorders in children and adolescents: internalized disorders (depression and anxiety) and externalized disorders or disruptive behaviour (e.g., conduct disorder)
- Comorbidity among mental disorders
- Risk factors and interactions among these factors based on the Quebec Child Mental Health Survey (QCMHS) of six- to 14-year olds database or other epidemiological databases
- Development and testing of evaluation tools for mental disorders (Dominic Interactive) and risk factors (questionnaire on parent-child relations)
- Screening for mental health problems and risk indicators in children aged six to 11 in order to prevent psychopathologies from worsening

- Representative population samples of children and adolescents; bivariate and multivariate statistical analysis
Current Projects
- Research on the reliability and validity of different versions of Dominic Interactive aimed at children aged six to 11 and adolescents aged 12 to 15
- Multivariate analysis of EQSMJ data for the purpose of identifying the various psychosocial characteristics associated with particular mental disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety disorders, attention deficiency/hyperactivity, conduct disorder) and the effects of interaction among these characteristics
