Marc Daigle is particularly interested in suicide in correctional settings; he recently chaired an international committee on suicide risk assessment in the correctional system under the aegis of the World Health Organization. He is a founder and executive member of the Centre for Research and Intervention on Suicide and Euthanasia (CRISE). An expert in program evaluation, he recently obtained a grant from the National Crime Prevention Centre (NCPC) to evaluate the intervention program in the youth centres of the Montérégie region (Quebec). He plays an active role in the project led by Gilles Côté on the epidemiology of mental disorders, personality disorders and intellectual deficiency in the federal correctional system, particularly as regards the issue of suicide.
