Profile
Marc Lavoie studies the link between cognitive processes and cerebral activity (evoked potentials), primarily in Tourette’s syndrome but also in anxiety disorders (especially obsessive-compulsive disorder). He works closely with the psychological intervention group in order to identify the physiological changes that occur following cognitive behavioural therapy (in collaboration with Kieron O'Connor and Stéphane Guay). He also has ongoing collaborations with Roger Godbout and François Guillem on the cognitive and cerebral effects related to total sleep deprivation. He has a parallel interest in the effect of perceived emotions on the memory of schizophrenics, pursued in collaboration with Adrianna Mendrek.
