Research interests
Dr Boye is a behavioral neuroscientist interested in the neurobiological bases of reward, motivation and compulsive behaviors such as drug addiction and chronic tic disorders. Current research in her laboratory employs animal models and psychophysical techniques to 1) characterize the neural substrate important for electrical brain stimulation reward, 2) understand the high co-morbidity between some psychiatric disorders and substance abuse, and 3) understand the pharmacotherapeutic effect of nicotine in Tourette’s syndrome.
