Is Social Phobia Characterized by a Distinct Interpersonal Pattern?
Abstract : According to the interpersonal model, social phobia is characterized by a distinct pattern of interpersonal behaviours, characterized by diminished power and status during interpersonal interactions. The distinctiveness of the social phobic pattern will be tested in two ways: First, the pattern of interpersonal behaviours of social phobic individuals will be compared to that of single sexually dysfunctional and normal individuals. Second, the baseline social phobic pattern will be compared to the pattern observed after treatment. Dissolution of the pattern after treatment would suggest that the initial pattern is unique to social phobia.
