On June 1, Dr. Emmanuel Stip, a psychiatrist and clinician-researcher at Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine since 1992, was appointed as head of the department of psychiatry in the Université de Montréal’s faculty of medicine. He was given a four-year mandate.

Over the past few years, problems of mental health at work have become more and more preoccupying. They represent one of the significant causes of absenteeism, and hence result in human and financial costs for employees as well as for businesses and for society as a whole.

The Trauma Studies Centre (TSC) of the Fernand-Seguin Research Centre of the Louis-H. Lafontaine Hospital is currently carrying out a study on the psychological and social impacts of criminal victimization. The TSC is seeking people aged 18 and over who have been the victim of a criminal act in the past 20 days.
